Business Organizations Across California Urge Voters to Support Proposition 2

The California Chamber of Commerce is joined by dozens of local business advocates which have endorsed the measure

SACRAMENTO, CA - The Yes on Prop 2, which will provide a $10 billion investment in California public schools  – without raising any taxes or fees – will not only ensure students have a safe learning environment but that local economies and communities are set up for success. That’s why Business organizations across the state have signed on in support of the measure.

“The Porterville Chamber of Commerce is proud to endorse Proposition 2 because of the positive impacts the measure will have on the community now and in the future,” said Kristy Martin, President & CEO of the Porterville Chamber of Commerce. “The vocational and community college funding included in Prop 2 will help to ensure that more people have good paying jobs, which is good for business and good for the economy. Join us in voting YES on Prop 2!”

Prop 2 expands technical and vocational job training programs to ensure students who do not attend a four-year college can compete for good-paying jobs in California’s economy. The measure also ensures that Veterans returning from service will have access to programs that will give them the skills needed to reenter the workforce.

In addition to the billions of dollars for upgrades and construction of public school facilities - without raising taxes - the initiative provides $600 million for career technical education classrooms and job training centers as well as $1.5 billion for local community colleges.
